How it works
We read every commercial payer's Transparency in Coverage file and keep only the rates attached to codes a practice actually billed Medicare for, which removes the ghost rates that inflate raw files. Each rate is shown as a percent of the local Medicare fee schedule so an office visit and a colonoscopy sit on the same scale. Percentiles compare you with confirmed groups of the same specialty in your metro, never across specialties.
